Egon had a bit of an adventure today. He spent some time with "the boys." Little Egon is no bigger than a good-sized gerbil, but I trust my big guys enough for a supervised encounter. At first it was passive sniffing (of course, the guys were half asleep), but then they got very interested in Egon and followed him all over! Satchmo, my 6 month old, became so excited, he started hopping around and pulling on Egon's tail to get him to play! I separated them at this point because, I just worry that there could be accidental scratches and things when such a little fella is involved.
As for everyone else... The little girls still spend a lot of time hiding in their boxes. Silly girls. They've lost a lot of the jumpiness they had, though. Eden has taken to enjoying being pet and held a lot. Eve is still following Dash around a lot and running in the wheel. (Echo also enjoys the wheel.) The boys are getting a good start at being blissfully relaxed and mastering the art of the nap. (They play too, but it is the sleeping the reminds me so much of grown up males.)
They are now at the nipping/nibbling stage, so I spend a lot of time letting them figure out that fingers aren't edible! I'm very glad they don't have as strong a bite as hamsters. (I've only touched two hamsters and both bit me, drawing blood! I think the pups would have to work hard to draw sweat. ;-)) They are learning to lick, though. Exor is good at licking.
